Detroit wasn't that different from home. They were both cold in the winter, mild in the summer. They both had a lot of people. And even if those people were going to be strangers, Max didn't mind all that much. He could make friends. He always knew how to do that. And there was always Cell to rely on if the going got tough. Though, he wouldn't bother the robot too much. Max wouldn't do anything to pull the Cybertronian away from the other 'bots that resided in Detroit. After all, this whole switching schools thing was to help Cell in regaining his memory.
Not that Cell knew that. Or maybe he did, Max couldn't tell what the car was thinking. But he did know that Cell didn't like secrets. Which meant both that Cell would tell him if he knew, and Cell would kill him if he found out that Max was keeping it from him.
Never mind, that wasn't possible. Cell wasn't the killing type.
But still, it nagged at Max that he was keeping this secret from his friend/self proclaimed guardian. But what was done was done, as they were already just a few hours away from Detroit, and he would start classes in a few days, while Cell hopefully joined up with the bots already located there. Autobots, they were called, from Max's research. He knew there were also the opposing party, Decepticons, but, from what he heard, Cell just wasn't one of them. He was too nice to be a “Decepticon”.
And sure, there was always the possibility that Cell had been one.
But that could be forgotten, right? Cell had forgotten it, so others could to, and Cell could start over as a nice, kind, accepting Autobot.
… right?
Max blanched a little, changing the radio station and trying not to focus on the image of Cell with evil, red Decepticon eyes. “If you were a Decepticon, you would tell me, right?” He asked out of the blue, turning to face the scenery outside shyly.
ooc:
So, this is them driving to Detroit... a little bonding, I suppose? xD

Someone once said, if you liked doing what you did, keep doing it. And Cell thoroughly believed that. Which is why he was completely disappointed that they were leaving California for Detroit. He expressed his feelings too, as he would never keep something bottled up. But Max had been determined, and Cell couldn't bring himself to say no to the human. Especially when the college student looked at him like if he didn't do this, the world would end. Cell didn't understand how colleges worked, but this once must've been mighty important if Max had begged and pleaded to come out here.
Eh, he was grateful for the trip at least. If there was one thing Cell like more than being lazy (or Max), it was long, possibly pointless drives. This particular one wasn't really pointless, but it was long, which made it ok in the Cybertronian's book. He had amused himself in all sorts of ways, too. Playing games with Max, listening to the new music on his radio, humming along with those said songs, turning his holoform on and off just to screw with the people who look in on his car. Oh yeah, this was the life, and Cell really wouldn't mind keeping this drive up for ever and ever.
Max would needed to eat and sleep, though. And he'd need fuel sooner or later. According to the guage that came with a human design, it was going to be sooner. Ah well, it would give the human a chance to stretch his legs because apparently, that was very important. Humans couldn't stay still for too long, Cell had learned through the various times he had dragged Max out on long trips, just so he knew the human would be safe and he wouldn't be bored whilst driving.
“... What?” Ok.. That question took him by surprise. A lot of surprise. In fact, so much surprise, that Cell nearly pulled over there and them. “If I was a Decepticon... Dude, I'd tell you if I was a Decepticon before I even admitted I was a Dodge.” He laughed, trying to lighten the atmosphere even just a little. “I promise, no worries, so don't worry. And I'm pulling over at this station so if you're like, thirsty or something you can grab a drink.”

That was reassuring at least. Knowing that Cell would tell him something like that relieved Max a little, though there was still the issue that Cell could very well be a Decepticon, and just not remember. But that was the point of this expedition. He couldn't go on not knowing much longer, and was pretty sure it was nagging at Cell, too, not that he could speak for the robot. Max just nodded gently, not turning away from the window, as if he was trying to memorize each inch of their journey. Which he wasn't, he just wanted to get an estimate on how long they would keep driving.
And actually, he could use a drink. So when they stopped he got out of the car quickly, hooking up the gas dispenser (even after so long, he didn't trust Cell with the gas), and slipped into the station's store, looking over the drinks and selecting some flavored water quickly. He unhooked the gas when it was done, slipping back into the passenger seat wordlessly. Max still wasn't exactly comfortable with sitting in the diver's seat, considering that... well, Cell being who he was. Max was much more comfortable with letting the alien robot drive himself, holoform or not.
“Do you happen to know how much longer?” He asked softly, opening the drink to take a sip. If luck was on his side, they'd see the city before the sun set. The Internet had told him it was a little more than a day's drive if they took the back roads (which were necessary), and this was day two on the trip, considering they spent the night at some motel. Well, Max did. Regardless, it was about time they were nearing the city. “Do you imagine we'll be there before nightfall? That would be nice. No more driving in the dark.” [/blockquote]

(OOC: OK, this is my first RP post. Over the past several days I've read all of the v2.0 posts and a couple of v1.0 threads from the archives, though I haven't read everything yet. So if this contadicts anything, feel free to slap me/let me know.) ---------------
High in the sky above, a purple bomber plane slowly descended out of the bottom of the cloud cover.
The travel from Cybertron had been long-- oh, SO long, particularly since Lugnut's anticipation was almost at an all-time high-- but the time had almost come! Megatron's GLORIOUS plan would finally come to fruition!
On their way back to Cybertron after being stasis-cuffed by those accursed Autobots, Megatron had blinked something to Lugnut in Cybertronian optical code. A plan-- after all, his master ALWAYS had a plan-- but one that would require Lugnut's complete devotion should he ever escape from the stockades (as Megatron knew they all, eventually, would). The target was vulnerable-- or was it?-- but the point was, Lugnut was the only 'Con Megatron trusted with 'the plan'. If the Autobots had ever even gotten a hint of it, they surely would have locked down the target and put it under far more protection than it currently was. As such, while the rest of the Decepticons had gone flying off to spark-knew-where, during the mass escape Lugnut had taken a different route-- a much, much longer route, but one that would pay off many times over. As much as Lugnut had wanted to stay and free Megatron, he knew that his master had wanted him to go.
And now, here he almost was! It wouldn't be long at all until he was in Detroit proper, and than victory would surely be--
Lugnut's internal ruminations were interrupted as a Cybertronian energy signature suddenly appeared on his scanners.
A Transformer? Already?!
Surely all of the Autobots and Decepticons on Earth were still stationed in Detroit...
...But according to his scanners, this wasn't giving off a Decepticon OR an Autobot signature. Lugnut just continued flying for a few seconds, confused. Then what was...
...Wait. If it wasn't either, than that meant it was even worse than an Autobot. Whoever this Cybertronian was, they were like Lockdown.
A TRAITOR!
Part of Lugnut's processor tugged at him, reminding him of the mission. But a traitor... surely Megatron wanted all traitors destroyed! And the Cybertronian had a fairly small alt mode, which meant IT was fairly small.
And they were next to a GAS STATION.
This was a golden opportunity that he just couldn't pass up. Getting the mission done was a top priority, but surely Megatron wouldn't object if he accomplished his mission AND destroyed a traitor in the process, would he?
Lugnut transformed into robot mode in mid-air. Roaring with fury, he plummeted straight downwards towards the gas station below, the claw on his right arm rotating inwards to be replaced by a familiar blinking pressure-pad.
It was time his "Punch of Kill Everything" finally lived up to its name.
